Gary
Baker joined Melons soon after its inception in 1983. As Design
Consultant for Melons, he guides an event from its initial concept
or theme. Coordinating menu creation, rentals, staffing, entertainment,
decor, transportation and other outside services that are crucial
to the successful production of an event. Gary has studied floral
design, horticulture and art and continues studies in the Sogetsu
School of Ikebana under master instructor Soho Sakai. He was selected
to represent his school at the American Institute of Floral Designers
International Student Competition in 1991. In this competition he
received several awards, including First Place in the overall design
category. He has been invited to participate in Museum Societys
annual Bouquets to Art exhibition and has seen his work published
in Special Events Magazine. His creative and innovative thinking has
been instrumental in the development of Melons reputation for unique,
stylized and customized events.
