Sheldon
Sloan, Partner and Director of Sales .
After completing college at the University of North Carolina, he began
his hospitality career first as a server, and later as manager, at
the Directors Dining Room and Entertainment Complex at First
Union Corporation in Charlotte, the citys most exclusive and
premiere event space at the time. Thereafter, he became associated
with Charlottes Tower Club, and began a ten-year career in the
private club industry. During this time, he held a number of positions:
bar manager, captain, Maitred, and Food and Beverage Manager.
He gained extensive experience as a wine buyer, designed wine lists,
and menus, directing the staff training, and hosted and promoted a
wide range of member events, as well as planning Club openings, from
the opening party to developing the staff training. Most recently,
he was Director of Catering at San Franciscos City Club. He
has attended numerous classes and seminars on food, wine and service,
and has taught service staff on formal service. Sheldon brings a wide
scope of talents to the table as a key member of the Melons team.
